Citrus Group has an active focus within this sector of the residential market.
Despite the well-documented economic challenges in the market, investment in the Living sectors including BtR remains of keen interest to investors and developers alike based on strong core fundamentals and risk-adjusted returns.
There is a clearly recognised need for the increased provision of good quality and affordable housing in the UK caused by a combination of demographic trends and historic undersupply. BTR as a model of housing delivery has matured significantly over the last few years and is now a key element in driving increasing housing provision across the UK. This is evidenced, as of November 2023, by the fact that there are some 250,000 BTR/co-living units in the UK either completed, under construction or in the planning pipeline, including increasingly popular single family housing units. There is undoubted demand for good quality and well-managed rental accommodation and Citrus prides itself on its expertise and experience in providing housing that people want to live in through our London, Birmingham and Durham offices.
Our current activities within the BTR market are geared towards bringing forward sites predominantly in London and surrounding commuter towns
with an emphasis on sustainability, affordability and quality of accommodation. As real estate company, we maintain working links with various BTR and co-living operators in bringing forward new provision and we are currently promoting BTR accommodation in West London and Essex through existing sites we own. Given the ongoing demand for housing, we are keen on acquiring further BtR opportunities in 2024 and beyond and would love to hear from you if you can help us grow our portfolio
